TIRTHAN VALLEY

CHEOG

It is a small town located near Shimla, can be reached with the help of a cab or state transport services via Shimla. It is popular for its breathtaking views of the hills and the mountains. This town is easily accesible via road, rail or air. Some nearby places that can be explored are Kufri, Chail, Naldehra and Mashobra.

KOTKHAI

It is derived from Urdu and Hindi language where “Kot” means ‘king’s palace’ and “Khai” means ‘depth’, meaning king’s palace situated in depth. Kotkhai has been hosting its traditional sport of bows and arrows known among the locals as ‘thotha’. There are a lot of places to be explored in Kotkhai like Kiala forest, Garawog, Kotkhai Palace and the HPCA Stadium Gumma.

This place is popular for apple vine, after the cultivation of apples by the American missionary Satyanan Stokes. It is a photographer’s delight with breathtaking views of the flowing Sutlej river. MATIANA

It is one of the unsung hill stations around Shimla. Its a heaven for nature lover’s delight, providing peace and tranquility in the laps of mountains. It is a beautiful and simple village in Himachal Pradesh which should not be missed! Matiana is around 45kms from Shimla town.

To reach Matiana you can hire a local taxi and also few local busses are available this is on the way to Narkanda
