Kasol is know as Mini Israel of India. This a small town in the district Kullu of the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. There are many important sightseeing places in Kullu Manali, Kasol is one of them. Kasol has been modified into a core for the climber in 2014. Kasol is located at an acceptable height of 1580 meters and visitors should carry their winter clothes. This is the best place to enjoy and relax on the bank of Parvati river.
Mesmerizing beauty of Parvati valley and opportunity of trekking & hiking, Kasol become mecca for Trekkers & Hikers. Its calmness attracts foreign tourists. It became the second home of Israelis. Kasol is the base camp for many treks like Kheerganga, Sar Pass, Chandrakhani Pass, Chandratal, Mantalai, Pin Parvati, Buni Buni Pass, Dev Roopa, Rudranag etc. One can hike to unexplored villages like Malana, Tosh, Grahan, Chalal, Rasol small hikes to these villages is really interesting. Grahan starts from Grahan Nala and it’s a 13 km hike to the trail goes through the forest. Hike to Rasol starts from the trail to Chalal. It’s about a 10 km trail. Thats why kasol started known as The Hippie Trail of India.
Cellular connectivity is also good. There are few ATMs are available near the bus stop. Carry sufficient amount of cash. You can enjoy snowfall in between the month of December to February.
How to Reach:
There is no direct flight or rail connectivity to Kasol. To reach Kasol by trains Chandigarh and Kalka is nearest station. Chandigarh is around 280kms and Kalka is around 260kms. The Chandigarh Railway station is also very common among tourists coming by trains. Kalka & Chandigarh is connects major Indian metro cities.
Bhuntar is the nearest airport It’s around 30kms from Kasol. Also know as is Kullu Manali Airport .
To reach Kasol by Volvo one has to get down at Bhuntar. From Bhuntar you have to take a Cab. Even from Bhuntar one can take local buses. approximately travel time would would be 2 hours.
